Hello, I’m Tom Millington. I have been involved in photography all of my working life but it did take me a while to work out what gave me meaning and satisfaction in my work.
After graduating in Design and Photography from the Arts  University of Bournemouth, I followed a well trodden path and became an assistant to an Advertising Photographer in London. Although I enjoyed some aspects  of this work, it wasn’t a great fit for me; creating flawless commercial images of consumer products. However, now on this path I found it difficult to get off and I ended up as an in-house photographer for a large international automotive company.
Early one morning, with the unenviable prospect of photographing 1000’s of car components that week, I spontaneously packed my bags and left but it still took me some years to finally find my calling. I spent subsequent years working as an in-house photographer at the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge, managing the UK’s first internet cafe and 12 months of independent travel across India and Nepal. It was these rambling travels with my camera that really ignited my passion for photographing people.
After returning from my travels and photographing a few of my friends’ weddings, I set up as a freelance photographer specialising in wedding photography. I discovered that there was a huge demand for my style of unobtrusive documentary photography and my business was quickly established through word-of-mouth recommendations. 20 years later I have photographed weddings at prestigious venues across the UK and abroad. I relish the opportunity to produce a stunning set of images for my clients that they will love now and treasure in the years to come.
“Thank you so much for the incredible photos of our special day! We really couldn’t be happier!”
